Visakh N R dominates 2nd San Leo International Open 2022
GM Visakh N R scored an unbeaten 8/9 to win 2nd Torneo Internazionale San Leo Scacchi in Fortezza. He finished a massive two points ahead of the competition. GM Artem Omelja (UKR) and GM Oleg Korneev (ESP) scored 6/8 each to finish second and third respectively according to tie-breaks. The tournament had a total prize fund of €7000 combining two groups. Top three prizes were €1000, €800 and €700 cash. The champion received a trophy, and the remaining two podium finishers received a medal each. Visakh's first individual triumph of the year
At the beginning of the year, GM Visakh N R won the All India Railway Team Championship 2022 for Integral Coach Factory. He finished third in the individual event and also at Pandit Shiv Kumar Khamparia Memorial Blitz Rating Open 2022. His first individual tournament victory occured at San Leo, Rimini in Italy on Sunday 26th June 2022.

A total of 16 players including 5 GMs and an IM took part in the Open A (>1900) tournament from five countries across the world. The event was organized by A D Circolo Scacchi Montefeltro from 19th to 26th June 2022. The time control was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
