Harikrishna, Humpy and Adhiban will feature in Chessable Masters
The second last Regular event before the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour Finals, Chessable Masters starts on Saturday 31sth July. It will feature three Indian players - Pentala Harikrishna, Koneru Humpy and Baskaran Adhiban. For the first time, a Meltwater Champions Chess Tour event will feature two women - Wenjun Ju and Koneru Humpy. The tournament will witness only five players from the previous event. Humpy and Wenjun make their debut in this season
Chessable Masters will be the first event of this season of Meltwater Champions Chess Tour which will miss the participation of the world champion Magnus Carlsen and his good friend Anish Giri. Both of them were the finalists of the Chessable Masters last year.


Pairings and Schedule
Chessable Masters starts on Saturday, July 31st and will conclude on Sunday, August 8th. Once again there’s a 3-day preliminary round-robin stage of rapid chess (15+10), before the top eight players advance to the knockout stage. The knockout stage is exactly like the previous events in this tour, where each match is played over two days, with four rapid games each day. If the match score is tied 1-1 after the second day, the players will then play two 5+3 blitz games followed by, if needed - Armageddon.


All games will start from 8:30 p.m. IST between 31st July and 8th August 2021.
Chessable Masters Participants
The lineup includes five players from the previous event of Champions Chess Tour, Goldmoney Asian Rapid which was won by Levon Aronian. For the first time two women will feature in this event - current Women's World Champion Wenjun Ju and current Women's World Rapid Champion - Koneru Humpy. World's youngest grandmaster Abhimanyu Mishra and former Venezuela no.1 Eduardo Iturrizaga who recently changed his federation to Spain will also be making their tour debuts.

Prizes
The prize fund for the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour is $1,640,000. Total prize fund in this final Regular event is $100,000 with the first prize being $30,000.
