IM FT Harikrishnan A Ra scored 8.5/9 to win D A V Krida Kendram Blitz Rating Open 2023. He finished a half point ahead of the field. FM Ayushh Ravikumar and Vignesh B edged past three more players on tie-breaks to secure second and third place respectively, scoring 8/9 each. Both of them suffered their sole loss against the eventual champion, Harikrishnan. The top seed scored 8/8 and was a full point ahead of the rest heading into the final round. The total prize fund for the tournament was ₹100000. The top three prizes were ₹15000, ₹13000 and ₹11000 each. IM FT Harikrishnan A Ra has won a staggering 13 tournaments in 2023 so far, including ten rating tournaments and two team events. He made a blazing start of 8/8. He had a full point going into the last round. A draw was enough for him to become the champion. That's exactly what he did against GM Laxman R R to clinch the first place. Similar to the Rapid last round, board numbers 2 to 6 were won by the players having the white pieces. Only on board no.7, the player with the black pieces won the game.

A total of 463 players including a GM and ten IMs took part from various places all over the country and two from the USA in this one-day nine round Blitz Rating Open tournament. It was organized by D A V Krida Kendram, Sports Academy of D A V Group of Schools at D A V School, Pallikaranai in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on 29th October 2023. The time control of the event was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move.
